2010 Disney World Marathon

I'm going to attempt to write an update on yesterday's marathon. I say attempt because I am an emotional mess today. I think the last year has finally caught up to me. I spent all of last year putting all my efforts into training and fund raising for it. It feels so weird to have it behind me now. I almost don't know what to do with myself. Although right now, my body isn't all too capable of doing much of anything. LOL!!

The first thing I want to do is thank everyone who has… Continue

Electric Bike Conversion

After many months of searching, then another of getting the blasted thing installed correctly, Sam finally has a bike he can ride without tiring out. His bike is just a cheap Mongoose from WalMart. The electric conversion is made by Wilderness Energy. I was so glad to find someone made one for a 16" bike. It's very heavy, but it works. Took a bit of rigging and adjusting to get installed, but the smile on his face was well worth… Continue

Marathon Training

I just realized I haven't blogged in quite some time. I thought I'd share a bit about my insanity...marathon training. I still think I'm at least a little crazy to be trying this. I've never been a "runner". I still wouldn't refer to myself that way. I ran my first half-marathon in January 2007 at Disney World. I seriously thought I was going to die by the end of it. I couldn't even lift my legs the rest of the day or the next. Getting in and out of the rides at Disney was oh so enjoyable.… Continue

Last night was an exciting night for Sam. He's just started playing T-Ball this fall. My husband is the coach. At last night's game, Sam scored 3 runs!!! I missed the first two because Abigail and I were at karate, but I made it there in time to see the third. It truly brought tears to my eyes. He couldn't have been more pleased with himself.

Here's a few pictures of my little T-Ball players.…

Happy Birthday!!!

My baby boys are 6 years old today!! Guess they're not really babies anymore. How on earth they're already 6, I don't know.

Not much planned for today. I'm sure we'll go to the pool. For dinner, they've picked IHOP. They've also asked for jello cakes tonight. I'll make 2 little ones since they couldn't agree on one flavor. Sam's is lime. Jake's is cherry. Their party is on Saturday at the fun pool at they Y. They're really looking forward to that. Mostly family coming, but we have… Continue

Back from Disney

We got back Saturday from our Make-a-Wish trip to Disney World. We had a blast. Now we're exhausted and recuperating. LOL!!

We left our house Sunday, June 7th at 7:30am (central). We were picked up and taken to the airport, which is about an hour away. Our flight left at 10:30. We arrived in Orlando just before 2pm (eastern). There was a greeter from Give Kids the World Village (GKTW) there at the security exit to help us get our bags and then to our rental van. We were soon on our… Continue

11 hours and counting....

Just 11 hours left until the car comes to pick us up for Sam's Make-a-Wish Disney World trip. To say he, and the other two, are excited would be quite the understatement. I'm just hoping they all get a little sleep tonight. I'm still trying to make sure I have everything packed. I've got my checklist. I seem to be doing well, but I can't ever shake that feeling that I'm forgetting something. Ah well, guess there's always a Wal-Mart around the corner for just that reason, right?

Today… Continue
