Hey Sarah, I actually started the military families group and I havne't been on in awhile...I'm sooo sorry. I saw where you said that Tricare wouldn't pay for the lift! That is NOT true, Tricare paid for my lift just this last april. What you need to do is locate place that installs wheelchair lifts. When you find them, ask them if they take Tricare. If you cannot find a single place that accepts Tricare then what you can do is they can actually request to be a Tricare provider because there is not one in the entire area that has one. I went thru Lift-Aids in Dallas, TX and Tricare paid for my Ricon lift system, the EZ lock system and any modifications that needed to be made. Call me if want to talk about this. my number is 254-630-1431.
Cody had the heel cord and hamstring tendon release this past December on both legs. One of the contributing factors to Cody breaking his leg last month was because he hasn't walked in so long, his bone density is not what it should be. Cody stopped walking shortly after his tenth birthday. We thought that it was going to change everything, come to find out it was an easier transition than we thought. Cody is doing well, he's really looking forward to starting back to school. We've been having to deal with Tricare because of Cody's accident. It's been frustrating to say the least. The kids don't start back to school until after Labor Day. Has Mason started back to school already? Yeah, I really do wish it would cool down, it looks like it's going to here shortly. I'm tired of 94 degrees with a heat index of 105! Have a great weekend!!
Oh girl...it's been crazy around here. They said that since it was just maintaining, that we knew what to do to work with him at home. If we needed anything to give them a call. Cody broke his leg a couple of weeks ago so now he's back in a leg cast....so he's had two surgeries within basically the last six months. Other than that, we're doing well. How have you guys been?
I know right, those kids are huge! Miller still walks and goes to camp in Wakefield. He really looks forward to it every year!
We go to Toronto and see Dr. Biggar, but I know alot of people who do go to Cincinatti.
Miller transfers to and from classes on a scooter, but walks the rest of the day.
How does your son feel regarding his height? Mine is forever complaining. His brother is like 6'2 and he really gets upset about it!
Hi Sarah! We are involved with the MDA out of the DC area. We have met before! We were at the MDA's Fill-the-Boot kick-off picnic with the fire fighters in Stafford County! I recognized your son's picture right away! I'd LOVE to start a local group!! Is your son going to camp this summer? Tyler is. He did not go last year, but went the 2 previous summers before. Are you doing the Stride & Ride at the end of the month? We've been involved every year...Tyler's Tornadoes! My e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org. Let's get together!
