I'm a mum of 3, noah 41/2, Reuben 3, Gracie 8 months. My husband and I have been married since 2001 and started dating in 1991! I have a early childhood background working in childcare centres and kindergartens. Spent a couple of years in Europe with my husband until I fell pregnant with Noah. Then we came back to Oz to start our journey as parents.
About my family:
At the moment we are all just surviving ! The news that Noah has Duchenne took us by surprise and we are still in shock (no family history, but I am a carrier) Noah was diagnosed March 10 2009, a day that we will never forget. I was 27 weeks pregnant with our daughter Grace. Both boys are at kinder this year and loving it. We are coming out from a dark place and things are starting to settle down abit. Our old normal life has gone, we are now trying to get use to our new normal life as a family.
Name(s) of child(ren)/individual(s) with Duchenne:
Lisa, these are great photos. It would be good if you could send me an email giving me permission to use one or two occasionally to decorate an article anonymously on our website. My email is deborah.robins@duchennefoundation.org.au I spoke to a mum yesterday in NSW whose son is 15 and still ambulatory - so it is a 'bran nu dae' for your little bloke and so much clinical research going on I think we have good reason to be a lot more optimistic about the future. If you can email me soon, I will send you the last newsletter (did you get?) located where you are, you might be interested in an opportunity in Perth next month. Looking forward to meeting when you come to Cairns - don't forget me because there is so much to do to keep you on your toes here in tourist central! love Deb
Hi Lisa, how are you doing lately? Diane Rewa's boy in Sydney is named Noah too. I sure would like some photos for our webpage anytime you can send them. Stay loved.
