I have a son with DMD who is 9 and we live in Berkeley. I know two families with 9 year olds in Danville and a couple further afield (mostly Sacramento and Davis, like Julie Garcia) if you are interested in meeting other people in the same boat. Also there is a really active group of DMD parents on Facebook if you're on there. Hope your son and whole family is happy and healthy. Wish we had a better reason to meet and Happy New Year.
Just read your message on my page. Good to hear things are going well. I really wish you and your family all the best.
I am excited about your son in the trial McDonald has going on at UC Davis. Let me know when you are coming this way. I would love to meet up with you.
John, there is a lot PPMD has to offer our famlies. This site is only one. Another wonderful opportunity is to advocate on your child's behalf. I should say families behalf because when you live with dmd, everyone is affected. You can got to DC with PPMD, usually in February or if you can not travel you can send letters and advocate from home. It is a way to have your voice, your families voice heard. Also, once a year in the summer (June usually now) there is an annual conference where you see you are truly not alone with dmd. This year it will be in Denver.
Anything or information you need just let me or anyone of the wonderful people here now and you will get help.
How did you learn about this site? It is a wonderful site?
