Me and hubby Dan, have 2 wonderful children, Amy aged 6 years, and Sam, aged 4 years old.
Sam was diagnosed in March 2008 with DMD after we had noticed numerous falls and struggling on the stairs etc. He also has extremely large calves (thought he was just well-built) and has slow speech.
I had discussed my concerns with a colleague (I'm a childrens nurse), who were also concerned, they did the CK test which confirmed DMD.
Sam takes everything in his stride, bless him, and is such an easy going little boy. Amy is like his 2nd mummy and dotes on him!
Our family, friends and "new DMD family" have kept us going the last few months, and for that I shall be forever grateful.

Emma,
Hi! I am writing to ask you if I may use a picture of Sam in a slide show I am putting together for a fundraiser. We are raising money for my son and for PPMD. I am using the slideshow so that participants can see the boys around the world they are supporting. Please let me know if this would be ok with you...your kids are adorable!!!!

Emma,
Amy and Sam are georgous!! Hope you've had a good few days. George is visiting the local church with his class on Friday. It's too far to walk...now is the time I wish we had 'wheels' and not Fred (the buggy).

ps: still on a caffeine high after that bucket of coffee!

Hi Emma
I hope you and the family are well. Archie is doing well although we had a scare just before Christmas as he had a suspected blood clot in his calf, thank God it was just a srained muscle. I can't believe how grown up Sam is looking now, I trust he is doing well.
Speak soon xx
