My son has duplication of exon 2 also, How is your son, Alex is 11 and still walking, uses a wheelchair for long distances, cannot do stairs or curbs. No real major learning issues. Is you son still walking?
We just got back from the PPMD conference and have some new information. I will email you with some new stuff. We have a duplication of 2 also. We look forward to seeing you soon. Tell everyone we said hi.
Hi Carol. We have just recently got to know that our son has duplication of no 2. He is 8 almost 9 years old. He has been diagnosed with Duchenne in November 2006. Our test in South African could not tell us if he had deletions, duplications or mutations. Only now did WITS university in Johannesburg recieved new test to do the proper testings. I have to go now and I will stay in touch. Good luck!!
Hi Carol. I have just gone onto this website again for duplications and see that your son is the same age catagory as mine. Kevin is 11 and a half. He uses a motorised scooter to get around on which is on loan to him at the moment for long distances at school and it sure does help stax. Welcome to PPMD and look forward to speaking to you sometime in the future.
Kindest Regards
Jo-Anne
