Hello my name is Joann Hammond and my son Damion is 11 and has DMD. He was diagnosed at a year old. We don't live in Ohio but ohio is the closest state to pa and I have not found a group here so I'm reaching out to the next closer state

Has anyone ever had trouble with setting up bus transportation for their son using a wheelchair? Our district is telling us that some wheelchairs cannot be transported due to safety issues. My son is missing his first day of middle school because of this and I am not sure of what the laws are regarding this in Ohio! Please help!!!

I know what you mean! Cody was so excited for camp too! But part of me wishes it was soccer or football camp! Boys Codys age are so into sports and it makes him feel left out alot! But I know he will have a great time there! I felt happy and sad last night I could not sleep! Will you be there on friday to pick your son up?

Well the kids are enjoying the MDA summer camp out in Ashley. Bright orange being the color. They love camp but I can't help thinking how much I wish it was soccer camp or any other kind of camp. I took him down to his cabin. He is fifteen now and I noticed that almost all the boys were using wheelchairs. They all seemed so excited. For me it is happy and sad all at once.

Does anyone know of any upcoming events in Ohio? I just feel like all the events are so far away and nothing goes on in Ohio...I love going to things that represent MD and I jsut feel like Ohio never has anything...does anyone else feel this way?
