Hi Everyone,



We wanted to let y’all know of some upcoming events we’ve planned for the South Texas F.A.C.E.S. group. Mark your calendars!!



August 10th: 7:30pm conference call. Getting ready to go back to school - Join us for a phone conference led by Dr. James Poysky. We will talk about IEPs, preparing your child's teacher for their arrival, PE issues and any other questions you may have. Number and instructions for calling in will be sent out soon.



August 28th: Abilities Expo at Reliant Park Expo Center. Saturday Expo hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit the expo at your leisure, and then join us for dinner at Buca di Beppo (5192 Buffalo Speedway) at 5:30 p.m. For more information in the expo, go to http://www.abilitiesexpo.com/houston/vsessions.html. Admission is free, but be sure to pre-register for quicker entry. RSVP for dinner to abbyplustwins@gmail.com by August 21st.



September 25th: Coach to Cure MD - more details to follow! We will need volunteers on that day. To learn more about getting your high school involved or for any other questions, email Rachel at rachelpoysky@yahoo.com.



October 9th: Mom's Night Out - Nutrition & Duchenne. Come to hang out with other DMD moms. We will have a nutritionist to consult with regarding good nutrition and DMD. Mom's night out will be at Rachel's house in Katy. Dinner will be provided.



October 30th: Sam's Family Fun Day in Dallas - Join us for a family day fundraiser in Dallas. Led by John Killian, PPMD chairman of the board. We will have a Duchenne family dinner after the event. http://samsdaytexas.com/

Hey Everyone-We are going to Clay's Restaurant on Sunday April 25th for a get together at 2:00p;m. Clay's has great food, a casual atmosphere, and even live animals for the kids to enjoy. We would love to have you there!

Hey Everyone!!! I hope all have had a great holiday season. We've been doing some planning on our end for the boys, and families, to have some fun.

Please join us on Saturday, February 6th to see the Houston Rockets play the Philadelphia 76ers at the Toyota Center. Not only will you get to see a great game, but the entire PPMD group has been invited down to court level before the game to meet a few players. We must all be there and be ready to go to court level at 6 p.m. sharp. The game starts at 7:30. Tickets are just $10 each. Our reserved section also includes 6 wheelchair locations with 6 companion seats. If we need more, we can get more, but we need to know ASAP.

We need to let ticketing know exactly how many tickets we need, so don't wait. Give us a call or shoot us an email to let us know your plans. If you have any questions, you can always contact me or Rachel.

What a fun gathering Saturday. It was great to see everyone and share information we learned at the conference. That was some yummy BBQ... thanks Rachel and James for hosting us.

I am in North Texas, not South Texas, but wonder if anyone is taking their sons to Dr. Iannacone at Children's Hospital of Dallas.
