Just wondering if anyone knows of a company who make wheelchair swings or other play equipment. We've just come back from the park with a very frustrated tommy!!

Hi Claire
No sorry not heard of wheelchair swings but I know in our local park in Cardiff run by the council they have an accessable roundabout. My son Ross never liked swings when he was younger but did go on the roundabout a few times. He used it in his manual and electric wheelchair and he would drive onto the roundabout. In the middle was an enclosed area and he remained stationary whilst the other children operated the roundabout.
Sorry cannot be more help
best wishes
Lynne
Thanks Lynne, I just wish there were more accessable things around in parks, it doesn't seem fair!

hi claire

the chestnut tree house have one in the grounds

it might be a good place to start... then maybe you could write to your local council with a few details and ask what's the chance of them doing something ; )

dread to think how much they'd be... stick 'special needs' in front of something and the cost seems to treble!!!

best wishes
