sorry...the cookbook we are doing now is not related to muscular dystrophy awareness or MD...but it is all vegetarian recipes. I run a non-profit social organization and we are putting a cookbook for the association. however, i still have some cookbooks from the muscular dystrophy awareness. we also had pictures and stories in it. it was a small book. but the book we are doing now has more than 300 recipes in it.

In regards to creating a cookbook and selling them in stores, you need to make sure that it is first copyright and has a ISBN # on it. The ISBN# is required to sell in stores.

I had published a cookbook for MD Awareness several years back. And right now about ready to publish another cookbook. This time we will have the isbn# on it and have it copyrighted as well. We didn't the first time.

We are currently working with a publishing house for the cookbook. they have an online database that you can go in and enter your recipes too.

wow - so glad I found this group - Levis was recently dx & we know diet is vitally important. This is all overwhelming & hard to eat healthy all the time w/ big brothers wanting junky foods. People talk to me about "no dairy", "organic juices", no salt, etc - my brain is on overload!

My local grocery store has one of those peanut butter grinders. No salt. Good buy too.

Just thought I would let everyone know about a peanut butter that has lower sodium than the regular one. Wyatt loves pb and j sandwhiches so I was looking for an alternative. The Simply Jif peanut butter has 1/3 the amount of sodium than regular. Just thought I would pass it on.

I recently started the South Beach Diet. Its alot of good lean protein, lots of vegs, small portions, freg, snacks. I am loosing weight slowly, which is good but I also realized that ths would be good for Kian. I have been making the dinners for the whole family and they dont even know its low fat. I have also started preparing alot over the weekends to eliminate canned foods, like beans. Bonus...I'm also saving money. My kids love the turkey mexican lasagna.

Hi just joined the group. My son has been a skinny string bean until last year so now we really need to watch the intake. I find an easy meal to have on hand or pick up on the way home from work is the pre-cooked chickens in the plastic pods. Remove the skin, grab a bag of light caesar salad mix(takes a minute to toss and add a frozen veggie or bread and butter. Cheaper and healthier than eating out.

I was talking to a friend of mine who is an author and works for a publishing company. She recommended we go to www.lulu.com and do self publishing thru them. Once it's put together you can self publish as many books as you want and we could get enough made to put them in stores or pass them around and then take orders for more so there wouldn't be alot of monies needed to get started. She suggested that we put pictures of the dishes alongside of the meals and also pictures of the kids throughout the book. She thinks a very good idea to help raise money for PPMD.
Just thought you might want to check the site out:)
