Its been a while, but Im looking for advice from others experiences in regards to medications to give weight loss.

William is now 11.5 and has been in the ataluren trial now for a number of years. He is still walking quite well, but his biggest obstacle now is his weight. He has been on pred now for the last 7 years, (we did try deflazacort but he is one of the kids where pred works but deflaza doesnt), and the weight gain has been substantial and he is now about 57kgs.

We know of various medications which induce weight loss such as metformin or GLP-1 agonists, but we need to get a better idea of what works and what doesnt and if it is worth the risk.

I suggest you try and contact Stanley Nelson, who is one of the leading experts in Duchenne. I think he is available in Facebook
