Anyone putting their child into this trial?
I thought it was mainly for helping the heart, but they must think it helps with walking.
"The main purpose of this study is to determine if tadalafil can slow the decline in walking ability of boys who have Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD)."
Does anyone know anything about phase 2? Can't seem to find the results.
Also, does anyone have reservations about tadalafil? Scare stories?
I'm going to try and get my son into the Oxford trial.
http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/775221 and here is one more I can find more if needed also you tube has videos under ron victor DMD
The one that was referenced, at Cedars Sinai with Tadalafil.
Normalized blood flow is not "restored muscle function".
The article said that Tadalafil restored normal blood flow to muscles, but it did not say (it restored normal muscle function)! otherwise It will be a breakthrough, but it is not yet!
Anyway,Tadalafil since it is given as single dose and not as Viagra which is given 4 times daily is safer than Viagra and it looks promising as additive treatment
Cialis targets PDE5 inhibition in a more targeted way (Viagra also inhibits PDE1c, and Cialis doesn't), and so the thinking is that the cardiac issues seen in the Viagra trial won't apply.
This Petition on the Whitehouse.gov website started by Charley's Fund is of critical importance at the moment. Eteplirsen the exon-skipping drug by Sarepta is real and works and must be approved. For the month PPMD must do everything to support this. Why hasn't this been done with all PPMD resources.
People start demanding it now! If the Petition reaches 100,000 signatures the Whitehouse(the Obama administration) has committed to responding. We need this Petition to happen and reach 100, 000
Can we have some updates from those whose children are in this trial. Any improvement seen? What is the dose they are getting. Any safety issue seen.
