Michele, I believe your question is in regards to a child with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. If that is true, as a child becomes weaker and struggles to walk, balance is impaired and falling becomes more frequent. The use of a wheelchair, scooter or other mobility aid may help preserve a child's strength and endurance. Unfortunately, over time, a child with Duchenne will fall more regularly, lose the ability to walk and eventually rely on a wheelchair for mobility. Brian
