Cardiomyopathy/Heart Failure - Left Ventricular Assist Devices

Hello Everyone,

I am a female with Duchenne MD I will be 24 years old in August.

My heart took a turn for the worse in Jan. 2013 and I had to travel to Cincinnati Children's Hospital to get a Left Ventricular Assist Device implanted in my heart. This device has changed my life and saved me. I am now only on a small dose of lisinopril and I can honestly say I haven't felt this good in years. It is something to look into. The surgeon at Cincinnati Children's Hospital is Dr. David Morales and he is one of the most experienced surgeons in the nation. There is no need for any more young boys and men to be dying from Heart Failure caused by Duchenne MD.
