Growth hormone treatment

Wondering if there was anyone here whose son is taking growth hormone treatments and is older than ten? My son will be 14 next month is about 4ft. 5 and 78 lbs. He just had a stim test and is very low in growth hormone. We are in the process of getting the treatments authorized by our insurance company. I was hoping I could get some feedback from someone.

YAY! Be sure the first couple of months to watch for side effects...there are few, but the main one being headaches..pretty bad ones..if he gets them. I only know of 1 child who has reacted this way, but it was causing a swelling of the optic nerve. Seph has NO problems AT ALL! I hope he tolerates the shots well!!! Good Luck!!

Thank you for your interest! I have one question: Do we need to re-adjust the dosage of Deflazacort that George takes? Have you changed the dosage?

Dr Wong did not change his deflazacort doseage and to my knowledge she did not for any boy...

Dear All

George has grown 6,5cm since we have started GH, a year ago.  We are pleased with the results.  But we have not seen any other impovements. And no side effects till now.

 

What about you?

Some time since my last post! 

George continues with Growth Hormone and he has grown almost 18cm in 2 and a half yrs.  We are very pleased with the results.  No side effects still!
