Hello, Colin and family. Thank you for asking me to be your friend. I am delighted and want to tell you your family is BEAUTIFUL! You are truely blessed as we all are to have our children (grandchildren) that God gave us. Hopefully, some day soon research will pay off and find a way to cure thrm. I don't get to this site as often as I should, but I am so grateful that when I do get on, there is someone to talk to! Wish my grandson's parents would join, but they re not ready yet. Bless you and will "talk" to you again soo.
Thanks for asking....we are doing well, as you can only imagine though, given the number of individuals and subspecialists that are involved, it is a day to day challenge to keep the entire group moving together!!! But no one ever said that "changing the outcome" would be easy!!
You are welcome. I really felt we needed a Dad's group and I was so glad to see Dad's joining PPMD Community. My husband has not signed up yet as he is so busy but I hope one day he will. Your pictures are wonderful. I really enjoyed them very much. Your kids are beautiful. Congratulations on your new baby news. How exciting for that new baby to arrive soon. Kari
hello Collin and to all your family, thank you for the support you gave me as i , and my family are finding it hard, and how sad it all is. we still in a way cannot believe this, i suppose its time, and do something different every day. for the boys Chance and Harvey, please forgive me , at the moment im finding it hard, without tears comeing into my eyes.
Colin and Suzanne- Hello, I love your pictures, your family is so beautiful and congrats on the new addition coming! We are from a small town in Pennsylvania USA. We like to work outside in our yard, go apple picking in the fall and just have fun. Our older son Kyle(6) is in Cub Scouts and learing to plkay the guitar. Patrick(5) is in Kindergarten and love animals and riding his bike. Take care and keep in touch. Jess
Thank you for joining me up as a friend, I have been looking at the sight on and off and signed up with a few but it has been a slow process trying to learn how to do these things. I love your sight, please let me know how you did the changes. Your kids are lovely and my heart goes out to your family too. I am originally from South Africa and my sister lived in Bedfordview at one stage, now lives in Umhlanga Rocks. We have just had 2 of our family members visit us and it is heartsore to see them return home again, such a long way away.
I will keep in contact and will look through the sight a bit more.
I really love this new sight. I sure needed this!
I see you live in South Africa, one of my favorite places I've ever been to! I spent time in Capetown and drove the garden route up to Johanesburg. Beautiful!
do you ever come out for the conferences?
Thank God for PPMD!! I'd be a mess if not for this great organization!
We have a website www.CoopersCure.org to see what we've been up to.
thanks so much for the welcome message. Cathy Jones
Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your 4th child. That is great news that this new one is a boy and does not have DMD. Having 2 boys with DMD will be tough, but having more kids is so worth it as I believe it gives our boys more to "live for" and more love surrounding them. Also, they will have their own friends for life. I love my kids, I am desperate to have more!
Hope you are well.. I just tried to load a photo of Amy Joshie and Jess. Thanks to you all for the support. This is greatly appreciated. We look forward to hosting you guys all in Aus. Our prayers are with you Suzie for a safe transition through to the birth of Jnr.
Thanks so much for the reply about my son, Ryan showing signs of DMD so early. You have a beautiful family - and congratulations on the news about your fourth! How awesome that he doesn't have DMD - I'm sure that was weighing heavily on you and your wife. I hope all goes well and I wish you and your family the best! Thanks again!!
Hi Colin, thanks for your reply. So nice to know that there is someone from SA also having to deal with this disease. How old is your son and at what age was he diagnosed? Is he showing signs of weakness? My grandson now has a wheelchair which we use for shopping malls etc? He is also on steroids(pulmison)
