As we head into the 10th Annual Coach To Cure MD weekend tomorrow, with emotions still running high from yesterday’s Advisory Committee Meeting for ataluren, we all deserve a moment to reflect on how much we have accomplished this September as a community!
PPMD introduced the idea of Duchenne Action Month as a way to combine all of the amazing activities that were already taking place in our community and create a focused month where we could all take action.
Everything you’ve done -- from .1K races at clinics and the offices of our industry partners, to planning Coach To Cure MD tailgate parties, to hosting dinner auctions, to lighting up local monuments, to chronicling your personal journey through videos -- has raised awareness and made an impact. Our social media accounts have been a flurry of activity throughout the month and it's been an incredible experience to be part of!
But just because September is over, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still take action with PPMD!
Maybe September wasn’t the right month for you to plan a .1K at your child’s school or your office? No problem! Plan one now for later this fall or winter! It’s easy and PPMD is here to help you make it a meaningful experience for all.
Maybe registration for your dream marathon or half marathon was closed? Visit RunForOurSons.org and register for a race in 2018!
Inspired to plan your own event? We’ve got the tools to help you do it!
There are always opportunities to educate your neighbors, co-workers, or classmates. There are always opportunities to advocate in Washington. There are always opportunities to create that one-of-a-kind fundraiser in your neighborhood. There are always opportunities to join the fight.
Talk to your family, look at your calendar, and let the PPMD team know how you would like to get involved. And as you take action throughout the year, share your victories with me and the entire PPMD community on social media by using the hashtag #EndDuchenne and taking photos using PPMD's Facebook Frame.
Thank you again for creating such an incredibly impactful September!
