Wyatt is now 20 months old and the weekly PT is finally paying off. He's taking steps all on his own! I kept hearing that he'll walk don't worry, but until you see your sweet miracle walk with your own 2 eyes, it's not quite real.
My four year old (who doesn't have DMD) was just like Trey at 3 he only knew 5 words, they thought Autism, hearing loss a variety of things, he just needed to be ready, plain and simple. And he's the same, he talks 24 hours a day. It's so cool to listen to him though, he's so witty.
Wyatt does surprise me every day, it's such a fun age. I hope you are getting settled (you moved recently from another state, right). And I hope that Trey is doing well.
YEAH WYATT!!! I can totally relate, although our little Trey hit all of his mobility on time, he was definitely a child who was short with words, when he turned 4 it was like a light-switch clicked on and he started talking! I remember thinking OH MY GOSH!!! The relief and excitement that spun through me was out of control! Now as he has just turned 5 he never ever shuts up and has a vocabulary that is in the 89th percentile. It seems like many kids, if we overlook this disorder, they will just do it in their own time, which is crazy! I hope the learning goes as fast with your little man as it did with mine!
