Standard Operating Procedures for Duchenne Animal Models, Published

In 2012, PPMD hosted a meeting with NHLBI entitled Contemporary Issues in Duchenne Cardiology. One of the small groups resulting from that meeting – the Animal Model Small Group – was tasked with developing/updating the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in cardiology. These are the procedures used when labs are evaluating the heart in pre-clinical animal models. The purpose of this project was to harmonize these operating procedures across labs involved in this level of research.

We are very pleased to announce the publication of this very important project. This publication will alert researchers everywhere that these SOPs exist, enabling all labs to use harmonized procedures in the evaluation of the heart, and communication and collaboration amongst researchers as these SOPs are further improved and refined.
