On June 27th, Wyatt's dad, Tom and grandpa Bill ran the Seattle Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon to raise money for PPMD. Our family really had a great time at this event. Not only was the weather amazing, but we also got to meet other people who are as passionate as we are about raising research money to fight Duchenne.
Bill ran the race in about 1 hour 40 minutes, Tom was a little slower running about 2 hours 15 minutes.
We want to sincerly thank all our friends, family and people we have never even met who so generously donated money for this cause. Between the two of them they raised about $1900.
We still have the "what do we do now, what else can we do for our baby" feeling! Until they find a successful treatment or a cure, I don't think that feeling will ever change.
Tom is very excited for next year's race already. He's actively recruiting more people to run for the "Run for our Sons" Team. So far I think we have about 10.
