This is a notice about availability of funds for new collaborations for therapy development. I apologize if you have received this notice before—it’s a good opportunity and I wanted to make sure it received wide distribution.
NINDS has supported administrative supplements to stimulate new collaborations where at least one party holds and NINDS award. This program seeks to support new interactions of this type that will move basic research activities towards translational outcomes. Over the past two years, 35% of submitted applications were funded.
The proposed collaboration must be directed toward translation and must be new. Investigators with a significant history of collaboration (including co-authored publications, excepting review articles) are not eligible to apply jointly for this supplement. Likewise, the collaboration should not already be apparent and supported through a funded NIH activity. Up to $50,000 can be requested—if the collaboration is between two NINDS funded investigators, $100,000 can be requested. Applications must be received on or before March 23, 2009.
Please see the Notice
