This community should be proud of the role we have played over the last several weeks preparing for the potential approval of multiple therapies to treat Duchenne. As I mentioned last week, there is still more work to be done to ensure that all safe and effective therapies are made available to people with Duchenne. People need options.
But we can’t just support therapies approaching the finish line of the long and strenuous approval process. We must continue to fund early-stage research. We must continue to support therapies that have the potential to help the entire Duchenne population – children and adults, ambulatory and non-ambulatory, across all mutations.
I’m so happy to announce that my dear friends, Mary-Lou and Larry Weisman have generously agreed to match all gifts through the end of the year—up to $50,000—to help us fund promising early-stage research that has the potential to benefit every single person with a Duchenne diagnosis. Will you donate today?
For over 20 years, PPMD has deeply invested in promising early-stage research with the potential to help every single person with Duchenne. But we need your help. We need your donation.
2015 has been a year of incredible promise, as well as frustrating setbacks. But we won’t stop. We will keep fighting until every single family can turn to a treatment that ends Duchenne.
At PPMD, everything we’ve accomplished to date, we’ve done with your help—powerfully united as a community. It’s only by continuing to work together that we will make the progress necessary to find solutions for every single family and every single diagnosis. I am confident that together we will reach our fundraising goal of $200,000.
Thanks to you and your support, we’ll hit our fundraising goal and continue to fund promising early stage research that has the potential to benefit every single family affected by Duchenne.
One of my favorite things about the Duchenne community is our commitment to one another. We’re all in this together. And that means supporting research at every stage, from starting line to finish. It means believing in the strength of this community to help end Duchenne for every single person affected. Thank you for your ongoing support.
P.S. Our matching donors, Mary-Lou and Larry Weisman exemplify how we’re all in this together. They continue to fight for every single member of our community, even though their own son passed away from Duchenne 35 years ago. Please donate today to have the Weismans match your gift.
