Congratulations to this year’s winner of the American Public Health Association Disability Section Lifetime Achievement Award, Dr. Gloria Krahn, the Director of the Division of Human Development and Disability at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD). Dr. Krahn and her associates at NCBDDD have been extremely supportive of the neuromuscular community. NCBDDD’s support includes providing funding for the development of the DuchenneConnect registry and the National Task Force for Early Identification of Childhood Neuromuscular Disorders. This Task Force is responsible for ChildMuscleWeakness.org, an incredibly useful tool designed to aid in early diagnosis of neuromuscular disorders like Duchenne. Thank you Dr. Krahn for your support of the neuromuscular community, and congratulations on your award!
