It sounds like we have a lot in common. Check out my profile. Lots to compare and contrast.

Hi there! I am soo sorry. We had a change of plans. My husband was granted emergency leave to come home so we decided to cancel our trip to Oklahoma City because he should be home this week but we don't know when. We've been trying to get him for a month already due to my back starting to give out on me with all the lifting. I hadn't heard from you (and to be honest, I kinda thought I freaked you out by just popping up on your page and asking to meet you guys..lol..i just get so excited at the thought of meeting DMD parent)..so we went ahead and cancelled. I really wish we could have met..but since my husband will return to Iraq after his two week leave and I'll be coming home pretty much every break the kids have from school, so maybe we could do it then?

Hi there! You guys look so happy! I live in Killeen, Texas but I'm actually from Oklahoma. I'm visiting my family right now in Gotebo, OK. You probably don't have a clue where that is and I don't blame you if you don't. Its a small town, population 300 and its an hour NW of Lawton. Anyhow, my family and I are headed up to OKC on the 4th of July. We decided to do Whitewater Bay for our 4th of July. Don't know if you guys would be interested but we're staying at the Embassy Suites if you guys wanna drop by for breakfast on the 5th? Just an idea... Hope you guys have an awesome weekend!

Wow - you are the second family I have "welcomed" today. Sorry to have to welcome you to PPMD but I hope you find this online family as caring and informed as my husband and I. Our son was recently diagnosed (Oct 2007) and found many difficulties navigating thru the medical nightmares. Finally the DNA came back after delays just like you mentioned. If I were in your shoes and living in OK I would head straight to Dr Wong in Ohio. Their clinic can't be beat according to other parents here. We live in SoCal and needed someone closer, but I would change to Wong at any point if it became necessary.

Feel free to contact me or anyone else at PPMD for anything, even to simply vent. We all know what you all are going thru.

So sad to add another family!!

sincerely
cheryl

I read your post and I am sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis. We were diagnosed in Jan. of this year. It was also difficult for us to 'navigate' this system and I work in social services!!! Please feel free to ask any questions you have. Send me an email at my private address and I can give you my phone number as well. My email is rhinsu@hotmail.com. You've come to the right place...everyone here has been wonderful to me and my family and I know they will do the same for you!
