I have a a 5 year old daughter that has recently been diagnosed with DMD. I just received a call yesterday that her genetics test came out with two gene mutations rather than just one. I am really just trying to wrap my head around all of this. I have so many fears and unanswered questions.
About my family:
My daughter is a happy 5 yr old with a lot of life and energy.she started having pain and cramping in her right leg back in May of 2015 and was seen by her primary physician, testing and xrays were done but everything appeared to be normal until a hospitalization at CHLA in September where more test were run and followed with a biopsy and finally a diagnosis of DMD

We know a Duchenne diagnosis can leave you feeling helpless and isolated, but try to remember that you are not alone. Keeping a solid support system in place and becoming as well informed as you can about Duchenne are two of the most important things you can do for yourself and your son during this time.
