I am a stay at home mom. Like any other mom, I love to be around my kids all the time. Though making them have a full meal is quite a challenge but it's worth it. I enjoy reading books, cooking, catching a movie with my friends, visiting historical places. I am firm believer in God and am very optimistic about the future.,
About my family:
I have 2 boys 10 and 9. My 10 year old was diagnosed with Duchenne when he years ago and since then a moment hasn't passed when I don't think and pray for his health and long life. Both my boys love to keep me on toes. My husband is a scientist and keeps himself updated with the latest research in the field. I admire his positive attitude and strength in dealing with this situation. We all love to spend time with each other, play, go out and watch movies.

Thanks for the friends request. My son was diagnosed with DMD a year and a half ago on his second birthday. It has definitely been a challenging journey with a lot of questions. Luckily with the help of this site, facebook, friends and family the journey has started off with lots of advise, support and comfort.
Hello,
We have 3 kids now 14,19 &21. When Jacob was dx and our oldest started to ask. We told them all Jacob had DMD and his muscles were weaker and that everyone in the family had a problem which they all knew as, Ben the oldest had weak eyes...he had glasses...Kelsey at that time 3 had asthma and she needed a neb...dad had trouble hearing and mom also has athma. Ben did not many questions but Kelsey did with time she asked if Jacob was going to die and I told her we all would die, maybe Jacob would go sooner but none of us know and I had great hope with the research. I was very active on capitol hill and we had senators and teir aids calling and so the kids felt apart of that. Good Luck Cheri
