Another thought...we moved to Pennsylvania for a few years, but the winters were extremely difficult for much independence. We're back in California, and it's so much easier for my sons to get around. This has made a big difference in stamina. Laurie

My older son, now 35, attended a Southern California University, received his BA, then his MA in Biology. He was hired by the department as a TA, then as an hourly Instructor in Biology. He was a welcome addition to the program. My younger son, now 33, didn't have the stamina for the rigour. He became interested in computers and is considering online courses. I think each person with DMD needs opportunities, but individual needs are also important to consider. Good luck. If you need any more specific information, please contact me. Good luck. I just want to thank you for reaching out and sharing your info and opinion with me - a number of others echoed your sentiments about MGH and we have requested a referral for Dr. Tseng - hoping to get an appt. soon!
Thank you so much for your quick response! We're very confused, as our pediatrician recommended Boston Children's, but I see a lot of people on these boards raving about Dr. Tseng. Can you give me any other specifics about your choice?
If not, maybe I will try calling you tomorrow, or are you on the road tonight? Thanks for offering to speak to us...
Hi there,
As a matter of fact, my kids are having a lemonade/cookie sale this Sunday, they have been wanting to do a fund raiser of their own. I would love to talk with/work with him, please let me know how to reach him. Sorry we weren't able to get together in March, but things were pretty chaotic. Maybe some other time though, or possibly in October, if you happen to be going back to see Dr. Wong again then.
Ben was diagnosed in November 2008, and turned 6 in March of 2009.
Welcome to PPMD, you will find alot of great information and great people to speak with. I will speak with my husband and try to get back to you.
