Muscular Dystrophy scientific researcher since 2000/ Originally focused my research on cardiomyopathies associated with muscular dystrophies and then moved into skeletal muscle mechanisms of pathology. My faculty research at the at the Iowa Wellstone Muscular Dystrophy Cooperative Research Center focused on identifying disease mechanisms in Limb Girdle and dystrophin-deficient muscular dystrophies. My research was published in Nature (2008) on phosphodiesterase 5A inhibitors decreasing fatigue and muscle damage in mouse models of muscular dystrophy.
I was Director of Muscle Biology and in vivo Pharmacology for a small biotech company in New York before coming to Eli Lilly & Company to for research and development in musculoskeletal drug discovery.
