I am not a parent of a child with muscular dystrophy. I am a physician-scientist in training, working on muscular dystrophy.
Thanks to the parents who put together their children's stories on youtube.
About my family:
I have two children, and boy and a girl, ages 3.5 and almost a year. Both are healthy, as far as we can tell.
My husband works in a school that specializes in children with movement disorders, and I am doing DMD research.

DMD is a devastating progressive fatal neuromuscular disease. It affects the person's entire body. It affects the family. It is also a genetically transmitted disease coming through the mom only to her boys. I believe that a mom can pass her genetic info to her daughter who could have a son with duchenne's. My son has adjusted well over the years and is 26 years old. He has a great attitude and love for life. He is an inspiration to me every day.
