Paul,

It is nice to see a researcher on the board. Thank you for your interest to help our families. My son is 16 years old with dmd.

What type of work are you currently doing for dmd?

Will you be attending the PPMD conference this year?

You may be interested in looking under Discussion Forum Advocacy. We delivered a letter from UC Davis, Craig McDonald his request for support for the MD Care re-authorization bill. We are still working on getting this bill passed. Our CA Senators have both signed on. Do you know if your House member has signed on? We need as much support as we can get out there to pass the bill.

Thank you so much for your research in dmd. As a parent I am so grateful to those who help our families.

Take care,

Julie

Hi Cheryl,

I do not know about the timeline for starting patient drug trials at UCLA. I think the work we are doing is still pretty preliminary. I will let you know if I hear of a study here that is looking for candidates.

Take care,

Paul

PS. I think you can find the Wilton paper, a summary of some recent work, by searching "skipping" on the PPMD website. It should be listed #6. doi:10.1016/j.nmd.2008.03.001 What the journals say. Let me know. I could e-mail you more information as well.

Hi Paul,

I tried the links you sent me to and couldn't get to the Wilton one. From what I have read and heard exon skipping is coming along nicely. God, I hope so. Keep up the good work. My son will benefit from exon skipping from what his MD's say. When are you going to seek candidates for trials t UCLA?
