Hello, thanks for responding to my comment. It seems that it would be easier for the school to send a teacher to our home instead of emailing homework.
Hi Michele - Glad you found on here. How is Chris doing? Did he enjoy camp. Alex loved it...we can't wait until next year. Hope all is well with you and kids.
We should get the boys together for a playdate sometime soon.
Hi Michele,
Funny this is the first day I've checked in here in a long time( months actually), and there was your note from today. We just started going to Strouber too! Anyhow, I'd love to get together. I know a couple of moms with boys the same age in the East Bay (finally, after years of looking) if you're looking to network a bit or meet buddies for your son. How's your son? Mine is mostly OK but recently started having a really hard time getting around. It can be so depressing but I'm trying to keep it all together. I'll send you my e-mail and phone # to your inbox. Are you on Facebook? There are tons of DMD moms on there from California (mostly Sac and S. CA). Anyhow, hope to hear from you soon,
Rebecca
Michele,
My son is almost 8 and we live in Berkeley. I'd love to talk to you more some time. Have you known about your son a very long time? We found out when my son was 6, so it seems like we've known less time than a lot of other boys his age). I hope his health is good. Do you go to one of the MDA clinics in SF? I'd love to get my son together with other DMD kids, if you're interested some time.
In health and happiness,
Rebecca
I am sorry to heara you have a son with dmd. I think if you join the California group you will find a lot of useful information. For example, you can get a medical discount on your PG&E bill if you apply. You can call 1-800-743-5000. You will need to have your son's doctor sign the application. It is a medical baseline discount.
I hope this site offers you a lot of information and resources.
I went to chabot college out in that area. I lived in San Leandro for a bit. I like San Leandro.
