This morning at 1:40am my sweet baby Wyatt turned 4. I can't believe I'm even looking at that number 4. 4 is a big kid, what happened to my "baby!" I'm honored and blessed to call myself Wyatt's mom. Wyatt amazes us everyday! He is accomplishing new things all the time. he's our miracle
Just in the last two months, Wyatt has done so many new things. About 1 month ago, he started finally crawling on all fours. He's been army crawling for months, but at his older brother's baseball party, he got up and crawled in front of a room full of woman, oohing and aahing. All the moms on this team know Wyatt's story, 1/2 the room was crying tears of joy. About a week or so ago, he started pulling himself up like crazy, now he's also starting to cruise around furniture. Congratulations Wyatt. We love you!!!

On Feb. 19, 2011 we welcomed our beautiful baby, Carter Bennett Staffenhagen. He was 2 weeks early, but weighed 8 lbs 14 oz, and was 21 inches long. He's amazing. We are so lucky to have this baby. PGD/IVF is a hard long process, but every time I look at him, I wouldn't change a thing. The two infant pictures on our page are of baby Carter.

Wyatt has completely changed my life. I'm sure most of you would agree, how different our lives are with DMD apart of them. But you know what? Wyatt has made me a better person. Made my children more understanding. I'm not sure how to explain it, but I know you understand. When we get busy in our lives, days pass quickly. Thanks for your words of encouragement regarding steroids -- I think we're doing the right thing by starting him now, but it is a scary step. Definately makes things feel "real". Just read a blog from October. So Wyatt actaully jumps and runs? That's awesome! Max can race walk like a champ, but just can't run or jump at all. I'm hoping steroids change that. Hey, Melissa! I saw that y'all will be headed to Cinci soon. Do you think you will start steroids? We saw her a couple of weeks ago and decided to start Max in about a month. He is in the 75th percentile for height, so she felt that the growth issue won't affect him for awhile (he's the second tallest kid in his class -- he goes to a Montessori school three days a week). I'm super nervous about starting him so young, but I'd love it if he gained some strength and, consequently hopefull won't fall down so often. I'm most concerned about weight gain -- I've been hearing a lot about how hungry people on steroids get. Anway, just wanted to chat with another mom of a little guy! Hope you and your crew are doing well!
