I am 35 years old and work as a registered nurse in surgery. I spend most of my time taking care of our four children. Aiden is 10 years old and has DMD. We have twin boys who are 7 years old and do not have DMD. If you are wondering, yes they are identical. We also have a 3 year old daughter. I enjoy spending time with my kids even though it is mass chaos most of the time.
About my family:
My family has been wonderful through the diagnosis of DMD. My husband is my rock and keeps me going. My parents have taken a charge at finding a cure and doing everthing they can to raise money for PPMD. They also help us out with taking care of our three boys. I don't know what I would do with out them and their support.
Name(s) of child(ren)/individual(s) with Duchenne:
Hi Julie, are you on Facebook? We have a N California Duchenne group, if you'd like to join. Friend me there and I'll send you an invite, many people are in both groups.
Yeah, I thought that was you guys, but was kinda out of sorts and a little emotional! I'm so glad they are together. I hope they are having a great time... I miss my little man so much!
Aiden is so darn adorable... love your new photos! Nathan is doing a lot of swimming this summer too. He is camping this week with a friend at Stinson beach! He is doing well... we think he might need a wheel chair soon, ugh! I will pass along your event to friends. Is it all bikes?
Hi Julie - Looks like we're both organizing Poker Run's again! Next year we'll see if it makes sense to combine... otherwise, having two is great in my opinion! We will try to make it to yuba city on 8/22. We also hope you might make it to Sac again, ours is 8/29!
I remember being tired and that is the tough part of being pregnant.
At this time the PPMD mtg has been pushed out so more people can participate. I will keep you posted. I sent another msg out yesterday morning. I hope you got that one. Please let me know.
I was checking in to see how you are doing. I hope all is well. Did you get my msg about an interest check for a PPMD mtg in Sacramento on Sunday, May 17th...it is a tentative interest check at this time.
Hello Julie-
Saw a post on some where about a Poker Run you are involved in- Thought I would touch base as we have been involved with the Kamloops HOG chapter since 1986- check out my page for pics and info.

Sorry for not getting back till now. For some reason did not see your post till today.
How was your run?
As for Training for us, we are slowly getting there. It will come about though.
As for the book, the name is Worth the Ride by Josh Winheld. You can find it at http://www.littletreasurebooks.com/. You can also read his blog at http://winheldsworld.blogspot.com/ . Again, not the easiest reading as a parent, but something I am glad Ruth and I found.
Tell your husband hi, and talk with you later.

Julie,
It was good hearing from you. I really like the idea of getting together with other Moms and sharing. Let me know I would definately be interested hopefully sooner than later. I think it would be great!
