Hi Julie

My friend Albin Leong is there:

Albin Leong, MD
c/o Pediatric Pulmonology & Allergy
Sacramento Kaiser Foundation Hospital
2025 Morse Ave.
Sacramento, CA 95825
Phone: (916) 973-7342.

He's a great doc, and is interested in doing the right thing for boys with DMD.

Let me know if I can be of any further help.

Jonathan

Hello:

I live in Sacramento, California. Are you familiar with the doctors in this area? My son is currently treated with UC Davis medical group and I am trying to pull together a good team of doctors for him. I have found some good doctors but I need a team of good doctors. I may have to switch medical groups and I am willing to do that if I can pull together the right set of doctors.

One of the problems I think that hinders some doctors for children like ours is that they already have given up on our children. You can not help someone if you do not believe they can be helped. Good attitude and positive thinking is what brings about the best of care, without it, there is no hope. I know you understand that very well and I appreciate it.

So, if you have any recommendations or thoughts I appreciate it very much.

Thanks,

Julie

Dr. Finder, We are having such a terrible winter- sinus issues, colds, over and over. Is it the stress that we're all under that makes us ALL so susceptible to getting sick? I've never been sick so often and it seems that all three kids are always sick as well. Wyatt actually told me that he heard himself "snoring" last night. We've heard him snore and he never knows what we're talking about- he is definitely "stuffy" again. I'm putting him back on Nasonex.
He had a sleep study ordered by Dr. Tseng last April (nothing significant was reported)and is due for another in April when he has his full-package check-up... He's 11 1/2 now and I would like to be a step ahead. Dr. Canapari will be checking him and his sleep study results next April.
Is it time for a cough assist?

Dr. Finder, So very happy to see you on this site! Julie says it very well. I'll never forget your sessions at the conferences- so inspiring. My son Wyatt is now 11 and we have been seeing Dr. Tseng in Boston. Dr. Brian is another very dedicated doctor and he has a wonderful group. Dr. Canapari checked on Wyatt and we have a good report... He said that you have a connection- can't remember how, but I was thrilled to hear it. Going back to Mass General in December for a re-check.
Again, so good to see you here! Joanne Keeley

Dr. Finder,

Thank you so much for joining the community site. Mostly thank you so much for your continued belief, support and commitment to help our children have a better life. We need to clone your attitude and commitment!

Yes, you are dedicated to the care of DMD patients but I think there is a stronger description out there for your constatnt non stop support. You are one doctor I know who has never told the parents to go home and enjoy your child for as long as you can and I thank you for that and all you do!
