I was hoping to see you there but it is kind of crazy at drop off. Pick up is much more relaxed. I work Friday so my husband will be picking him up. Do you get notice when they have MDA support group meeting? Maybe we can plan on meeting at the next one.
When you pick him up on Friday I am sure he will have all kind of stories to tell you. I'm sure he is having a great time. They really make it special for the kids.
I asked my son if he remembers them ever doing anything like that at camp in years past and he said no. I'm not sure how I really feel about it. We told Derek about the two boys who passed a couple of days ago. He knew Darian from camp and knew Brady a bit better. Darian passed a couple of months ago at 15, Brady died two Saturdays ago he would have been 15 on the eleventh. Both had Duchenne. It has been a difficult week for me. I went to the funeral home for Brady. His mom said he wasn't sick or anything. He went to sleep Saturday night and just didn't wake up Sunday.
Not sure if i agree with them doing something at camp. I think maybe it takes away from what the focus of the camp should be.
I know your son will do great at camp, as when Kelvin visited last year on family day (my brother worked there, he is a respiratory therapist), he didn't want to leave and couldn't wait to go, unfortunately, Disney is waiting for us that week, but we may make it on Family Day. Michelle
Hi Jennifer, we're in Johnstown, East of Columbus. Kelvin is 6 1/2, he'll be 7 in September. We can't go to camp, except family day, as we are leaving for Florida in the middle of the week of camp. I scheduled the Florida trip last year. Michelle
Jennifer,
Scott has gone the last three years and will going this year, as well. Your son Cody will enjoy it.
If you have any questions about camp, please don't hesitate to ask. I know for me it was kinda of scary for me to let my son go his first time. But, when we arrived and saw how happy he was, we know we made the right decision. He always looks forward to going back the next summer.
The staff is great and I have nothing negative say about the experience.
How is Cody doing? Scott is a nice, funny and for the most part, a happy teenager at this point in the game. He is thirteen and he likes girls, video games , texting friends and just being Scott.
Welcome Jennifer,
We live in Granville, where do you live? Always interested in talking to all moms close to home. I would like to get together with the boys and moms and create new friends for all.
Take care, Karen
