Our prayers are with your son and your family. There is a professor from the University of Western Australia named Steven Wilton who is an expert on MD. He travels to the US every year to be at the DMD conference.

It is unusual to find other parents with boys with BMD. My son, Billy, is 19, and is a college sophomore and doing very very well. When he was young he had trouble speaking and took speech all through elementary. We were told early on he would never be mainstreamed. That was before we got his diagnosis. How wrong they were! He has done very well and have kept him as healthy as possible. He looks just like any other college kid and even marches in the UC band if you can believe that! He has heart problems though already which greatly concerns us and we must keep a close eye on. We are truly lucky though and we thank God every day for how well Bill is doing.
My personal email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have not had a chance to check out the groups, you might be interested in Dads Only, Becker Parents, and Michigan Families. Check it out. We will talk someday soon I am sure about BMD.
