I am 42 years old and live in Libertyville, IL. I work part time as a secretary as well as a Tastefully Simple Consultant. I love to run, read, cook and go out for coffee.
About my family:
My husband's name is Michael and he works for a life insurance company. We have 2 children: James who is 8 years old and Vanessa who is 5 years old. James loves playing with his Hot Wheels cars and his Nintendo DS. Vanessa absolutely loves all kinds of animals, especially horses and gymnastics.
Name(s) of child(ren)/individual(s) with Duchenne:
yes I hope we can! Jordan is doing well overall. We have had a few downfalls recently, but we keep pushing. Jordan did go to camp. He just went the last week of July so it is still fresh in his mind and he is talking about it a lot! Did James get to go? How is James doing? So glad I found you! It was crazy, I was just looking through different posts on borads and saw your name. :)
Send your email address to Sandy at email@example.com and let her know you would like attend the FACES meeting. I will also send her a message to look for your email. If you would like to talk some time in person let me know and I can send you my phone #. :)
Hi Fran, I just saw you joined the IL Faces group. Welcome. Our sons are close to the same age. Charles will be turning 8 in August. He was diagnosed at 3 and a half. He also really likes hot wheel cars and computer/video games.
Do you get the emails announcing the meetings for IL FACES? If not please feel free to leave a message on my page and I will contact Sandy who coordinates the meetings. I believe Sandy said she will try to set up another meeting in August. We went to our first IL FACES meeting in May and enjoyed meeting several of the other families in IL.
Best wishes to you and your family.
Hi Fran, I happened to notice you recently joined a group and was looking at your profile and noticed you are in Libertyville, IL. We are pretty much straight west of you on the other side of Illinois in East Dubuque, IL (slightly west of Galena, IL - seems most Chicagoans know Galena :-)) . Looks like you may have joined PPMD around the same time we did. Our son, Kyle, was officially (DNA) diagnosed in June, 2008. Original diagnosis was 2 years ago this past Wednesday - what a crappy day. Hope you and your family and son are doing well.
