We will be selling our 1999 OLD Dodge Caravan with ramp--VMI conversion. It has over 100.000 miles on it and is a bit beat up down low where curbs lurk. We would like it to go to someone who could really use it, so let me know if you know anyone. We are thinking around $5,000. We live in Seattle area, and need to keep it until our new van arrives from being converted--maybe up to 3 months? It is so upsetting how much these vans cost--and we really have to have one unless the public transportation is good. If this is too commercial a post let me know and I will use other media.
Hi families, I wanted to let everyone know about two young men who will be cycling across country for their senior project. Mac and Drew are planning to start in Oregon and proceed cross country, meeting with the Jett riders about halfway through and end up on the Jersey shores. Please take a look at their blog, they are truly inspirational.http://bikestory4cory.blogspot.com/
So did anyone else see the news about Inslee stepping down to run for Gov?
On a side note how did the meetings go in DC?
Ok so it looks like I will not be able to make DC now This week has been crazy and nothing has gone the way it was supp to. So I am so sorry and I do apologize for not being able to make it. I know they work really hard to get us those meetings. Its the first year since Jacob was diagnosed that I have not gone and I am really unhappy to miss it. I will be there in spirit and will help out with action alerts from home. Will def be there next year will make backup plans for the backup plans.
I went last year. It was at the UW, lasted about 3 hours, and was really worthwhile. It features researchers explaining where they're at in their current projects (treatments/cures for DMD). There was a talk on exon skipping, one on use of Viagra (sounds fishy but Viagra has good results on mouse model) and another one -- my favorite-- about a "cassette" that contains the essential coding for the dystrophin gene that they were able to stick in a virus and deliver to mouse model, which had amazing results. There was also a talk by a dietician at Children's with good info.
If you can make it at all, I think you'd be glad you did. I think it would be great if parents wore name tags with a picture of their son on it so we can get to know each other.
Hey Judy, just heard from Stan Froehner and the meeting is April 12th. Thank you so much for always helping to put this all together! I am hoping that we will see many of you there. I always feel like we need a little more time to socialize and get to meet eachother at this event but after wards we are always running out as we live in Gig Harbor and it is an hour away. We all shall meet sometime correct??!!
A Christmas get together sounds wonderful. We live near Ruth and Jeni so I don't see a problem. If you need any help organizing let me know.
Oh, the weather was so bad last week, we where snowed in for a week!
MDA is sponsoring the research info night again this year. Can't remember what night it is, and they're exploring venues. When I get specific info, I'll share it.
