Hey, Texas moms and dads.

Max has been receiving PT twice a month through Early Childhood Intervention since he was a baby, but ECI care will stop in April when he turns three. We have an appointment to meet with the local school district, as I'm hoping they will take care of his PT.

I was told by my ECI coordinator to come to the meeting with questions so that they would take me seriously and see me as an involved parent who would make sure Max received what he needs. This made me a bit nervous. I'm assuming his diagnosis alone would qualify him for services with the school district. Is this correct?

My husband and I recently started our own business, and money is definately tight, so I'm really hoping to get PT thru the school. That's actually the only service I want right now -- I am happy with Max's pre-school and am not interested in him attending Head Start for a variety of reasons.

Any tips or advice about the upcoming meeting or working with our local school district would be greatly appreciated!
