Tanya you hit the nail right on the head....just last night at the Mall I passed a lady waiting on her companion to bring her meal to the table, she was in a wheelchair, I gave her a very big generous warm smile and said hello! I passed an elderly man the other day coming out of our post office held the door for him and said hello.......I try to smile and make someone else's day better.....we all have our problems......a smile can make a difference in anyone's day!!!!

Hurricanes s#ck!! OK, it could be worse. I'm at least at my mother's house nice and far away from the coast. So I have electricity and hot food, etc. But I'm about to have to go home. Our house is fine. Just no electricity, and we've been told it probably won't be back sooner than 2 weeks, but could be 4 or more.

Wow!!! where have I been that I missed all this excitment here at PPMD...this is awesome! I wondered why it was so quiet at the message boards! (LOL)

Well Tim and I have doing well...He is back at UF-studying some cool courses.

I do have a new blog call College Mom's Blog and as the result of it, a reporter wants to do a story on Tim and I and PPMD.
Anyone can visit my blog and comment on it if they so desire it.
the link is: http://collegemomscafe.blogspot.com/

But I do love what is going on here! I applaud the PPMD staff for their excellent work with this site.

I give it (out of 1-5 stars).... a 10!!

Yesterday my daughter, myself and son's step mom Bessie with her 1 year old daughter, picked up Luke from MDA summer camp, he was sharing his week when another DMD friend came up and started talking to me. He knew Luke had a 9 year old sister, but he looked down at the baby who incidently was hanging onto Luke's wheelchair and said to Luke, "Luke your sister has gotten smaller!" Luke laughed and said "this is my littlest sister." This kid turns his chair towards me and says "you mean that lady right there (referring to Bessie) is your ex-husbands new wife! Laughing I said yes, then he said. "Do you need a hug" I about peed my pants! Luke, Bessie and I were just cracking up! (Here's a little history, Luke's dad and I divorced 14 years ago, but he just got remarried last year. to an incredible young gal that loves Luke very much and takes very good care of him, she and I are becoming a team, she is a great allie to have against Luke's dad...lol."

I whole heartedly agree. Although Duchenne plays a large part in our lives. We need to remember that it's not everything.

Thought for the day, see how many people you can smile at and see what responses you get? I did it the other day and I think I made about 5 people feel better. It is great therapy when you are feeling down.

I think this group is an excellent idea! Not every aspect of our lives should revolve around DBMD! That's great news about your father! I will be praying for him and your family.
