Drug: DEFLAZACORT
Dose: 6 mg's daily in the PM
Date Started: 03/30/2009
Comments: Start at low dose to see how Micah adapts mentally to steroids. Already has anger issues due to Autism. Will up the dose over time until prescribed dosage is met or he displays more intense anger, whichever comes first.

Date: 04/02/2009
Dose: 12 mg's daily in the PM
Comments: No issues at 6 mg, so added another 6 mg.

Date: 04/05/2009
Observations: Seemed to have a hard time getting to sleep, so changed to AM dosing. Also, Micah is more loving than ever, especially towards his mommy. Comes up and gives her kisses, lays his head on her, and wants to be close to her at bed time.

Date: 04/11/2009
Comments: Upped dose to 15 mg.

Date: 04/12 - 04/15/2009
Observations: Micah is waking up 30-45 minutes earlier than normal since starting 15mg on 04/11. After 2 weeks off for Spring Break, he went back to school on Tuesday, 04/14. He seemed very edgy after getting home and refused to do home work. Could be because the change in his routine after 2 weeks of no school, so will monitor how he adjusts getting back into the swing of things. May just be an Autism thing...routine is key...or, it's a deflazacort thing.

Date: 04/19/2009
Observations: Anger is still up, but not like how it was after the first 2 days of school following Spring break. Only gets upset when he doesn't get what he wants or if someone takes something from him...especially his sister. He displayed this reaction prior to deflazacort, but the intensity of it is up slightly.
Comments: Upped dose to 18 mg.

Date: 05/13/2009
Comments: Still at 18 mg.
Observations: Anger is maintaining at the same level, but seems tolerable. Maybe we are just getting usd to it. Denise is looking into a med that will help ease this issue.

Date: 07/27/2009
Comments: Still at 18 mg.
Observations: Much calmer. Has his days, but are not like previous when sarting Deflaz. Also, Micah is able to get off the floor again without looking for something like a couch to help himself up. At this stage, Micah is doing better mentally and physically than I thought he would.

Drinkables Miracle Fruits of the World combines all of the top botanical fruits as well as high antioxidant juices into an all-in-one super botanical liquid!

This product promotes high antioxidant properties as well as an exceptional O.R.A.C. value that would take as many as six individual botanicals to match its concentration. This one of a kind supplement can unlock all the botanical properties known to man as well as provide fruit juices that have become a regular staple in today's diet.

Pomegranate (Pomica granatum)
First cultivated by the ancient Egyptians and Phoenicians. Pomegranates contain high amounts of hydrolyzable tannin (punicalagin) - a powerful polyphenol known for its antioxidant properties.†

Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostina)
A tropical evergreen tree believed to have originated in the Sunda Islands and the Moluccas. Mangosteen contains an abundance of healthy alkaloids including xanthones, gartanin and normangostin.†

Noni (Morinda citrifolia) (If child is on ACE or ARB's, please check out this article: CLICK HERE)
Also known as the "Great Morinda", Noni serves as a tonic in China, Japan and Hawaii for a variety of traditional health applications. The tree is native to Southeast Asia yet has spread throughout India and into the Pacific Islands.†

Acai (Euterpe oleracea)
Very popular as an energy drink among surfers and celebrities. Acai is the fruit from a palm tree native to tropical Central and South America. It is rich in B vitamins, iron, Omega-3 fatty acids and anthocyanin (an antioxidant flavonoid).†

Goji Berry (Lycium Barbarum)*
Also known as the Chinese Wolfberry or Snowberry. The fruit plays an important role in traditional Chinese medicine and is nicknamed the "happy berry" because of the sense of well being it is said to induce. Goji's richness in carotenoids, phenolics and Vitamin C creates potential for an extraordinary synergy of antioxidant strength.†

Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum)
Native to the United States, the blueberry is highly rated for its antioxidant properties. The fruit's pigment contains phytonutrients called anthocyanidins which help neutralize free radical damage. Antioxidant compounds such as pterostilbene and ellagic acid are also present.†

Green Tea (Camellia sinensis)
First cultivated in China, green tea is a tea that has undergone minimal oxidation; leaving abundant polyphenol levels. The antioxidant, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), has been recently identified in tea. Green Tea has also been shown to raise metabolic rates, thermogenesis and fat oxidation.†

Cherry (Prunus avium)
Greater attention is now being paid to the cherry for its health properties. In addition to high levels of anthocyanin antioxidants, the cherry contains Melatonin. Melatonin plays important roles in both immune system support and stress level reduction.†

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbados)*
Used throughout the world as an external balm to relieve skin discomfort, people now are starting to drink Aloe Vera for its intriguing ability to support the immune system.†

Ginkgo Biloba
The Ginkgo Tree is a living fossil, its plant family dates back to the middle Jurassic. Very long-lived, some tree specimens are more than 2,500 years old. The extract of Ginkgo leaves contain flavonoid glycosides and ginkolides which demonstrate alleged nootropic properties, improved blood flow to most body tissue and protection against oxidative cell damage from free radicals.†

Concord Grape (Vitis vinifera) Concentrate
The French Paradox; why do the French people who eat higher levels of animal fat, also have a lower incidence of heart disease? Researchers speculate that the relatively large amount of red wine consumed by the French people has positively benefited them. Researchers are focusing their attention on the special health properties of resveratrol, a polyphenol abundant in grape skin.†

Grape Seed (Vitis vinifera) Extract*
The seeds in grapes are known to contain procyanidolic oligomers, also known as PCOs. Researchers have concluded that PCOs help strengthen blood vessels, and improve blood circulation. Grape Seed Extract is also a powerful antioxidant.†

Resveratrol (Vitis vinifera)
Resveratrol is a naturally occurring phytoalexin produced by a number of plants including red grapes. Resveratrol is under intense investigation as a powerful antioxidant and as a supplement for heart health support. Moreover, athletes have started using resveratrol as a natural boost for endurance.

Hey Christian

Where do you order this from? I Like the all in one package deal.

Tina

Hi Tina,

I buy it at Costco. www.costco.com

Also, the link at the top of this page will take you to the company website. If you click on the "Buy Now!" menu item, it will display the places that carry their products.

Hope this helps,
Christian
thanks-
so just to confirm...how much do you give to your son a day? Does he like the taste?
We give 3/4's of a shot glass...just under an oz...per day.

He does like the taste. He says it tastes like a mix of strawberry and chocolate. We tried Noni about a week before and he refused. So his first taste of this stuff, he was very aprehensive....did a quick sip, made a face, then downed it like his mother and I do shots...LOL.

I tasted it and it isn't too bad..., not sure if it tastes how he says, but deffinitely not your normal vitamin taste.
