I created this group for all of the Aunts and Uncles or even friends of families dealing with DMD. I am very close to my sister and her family and my heart is broken in pieces for her. I worry about her and what is to come... I worry about my beautiful nephews... I worry about so much and most of all I worry about what to say and do to help. I thought that this group could be helpful to myself, my sister and her family and to all of the other aunts out there. If anyone has any tips or is looking for a "boost", please post here... WE WILL HELP EACH OTHER HELP OUR LOVED ONES.

Comment by Debby on November 10, 2008 at 10:50pm: I am Brandon's aunt Debby, his mother Lisa is my sister. Brandon is 13 years old and has DMD. I have 3 sons the two youngest 21 and 23 years old were counselors at the MD camp during the summer and will be going back next year. They volunteered hoping Brandon would attend but he did not want to. I took him to visit the camp that week and we are all hoping he will go this year. This is a very painful disease for everyone that is affected by it but my sister carries the most pain in her heart Brandon ask alot of questons he is at the age where he wants to know about his life span. Everyday is a challenge.. He is getting his bathroom totally remodeled this weekend and everyone is excited that this. More later
