Welcome to the Alaska Families Support Site...Please share yourself with us!

This is the buggy my husband build for Luke. Luke drove a fourwheeler until his upper body strength weakened. The buggy is now Luke's fourwheeler. As you can see we enjoy going out on it. Give us a shout if you ever want to come out to the farm for ride.

Hi All! Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful Alaskan summer. It's hard to believe it is already half over! We've been spending much of ours camping. This weekend we were in Portage and took the kids on the glacier cruise. It was really fun even though it poured Sat. evening. Last week was Vacation Bible School and this week Jeannie has Girl Scout Camp. We like to keep busy. We are looking forward to our second annual neuromuscular appointment at Childrens' Hospital of Philadelphia where Jeannie and John are enrolled in the UDP study. Last year it was a very positive experience. It helps that my whole family and many of our friends live in Jersey, so our hospital visit is rolled into a yearly summer vacation. The kids can't wait to go to the beach and maybe Six Flags Great Adventure. Our appointment is the Friday of Labor Day weekend so it means we will miss seeing all our Alaskan kids on the local telethon. We decided that John is too little for MDA camp this year. He is doing a Mad Science 1/2 day camp that week instead.

Write me back and tell me about your summer activities and plans for the rest of it. Pray for more of that beautiful sunshine we were enjoying!

Your friend,
Jackie Mc.

Sarah Palin is putting Alaska on the map, Hello World, yes Alaska is a STATE! Here is Sarah Palin's Press Release. I love it because the USA is in the same "reform" boat as our DMD kids.

OR IMMEDIATE RELEASE No. 08-149
Governor Palin Releases Statement to Alaskans

August 29, 2008, Anchorage, Alaska – Governor Sarah Palin today released the following statement to Alaskans:

“It is the honor of my life to represent you as your Governor, and over the next two months I will continue to do so. As the mother of five, I know how to multi-task, and I will continue to promote the path of reform that we set out on together in the state of Alaska.”

“It is a great privilege to be John McCain's running mate and to be considered by the American people for the Vice Presidency. This honor is a testament to the reforms and progress we have made together in Alaska. Now is the time to take that spirit of reform to Washington.”
