I don't think I've posted this question yet ... We are traveling to see Dr. Wong and her team in May, and we're not sure what to do with our five-year-old daughter during Max's testing and appointments. We, of course, want to shield her from hearing anything upsetting, and I like the approach of one mom who said she doesn't take her daughter go to any appointments to protect her a bit from worrying so much about her little brother. I also want my husband and I to be able to give our absolute full attention to the team there so we can retain as much information as possible. The concierge at Cinci as well as the Ronald McDonald House across the street said they don't offer babysitting, and I hesitate to hand my child over to a drop-in daycare. A friend suggested letting her watch videos on my Iphone (with headphones) and stay in the room with us, but I'm just not sure how distracting she will be, how long all of the appointments will take and if she'd even want to do that for long periods of time.
We are driving to Cinci and making the trip a family vacation, but we may fly in one of our parents to watch Holly. I'd like to avoid this, if possible, since a flight and hotel room for several days will be quite expensive.
