Hi, my name is Lisa my son's name is Omri he is 12 years old and has got to the stage where he cannot turn at night. He has been like this for about a year, but now if me or my husband don't get up to turn him at night he simply doesn't move. We have decided to buy a mattress for pressure relief, but are a bit overwhelmed by the choice on the market. If someone has already got and is very satisfied we would really apprieciate the advice.
Thanks Lisa

My son is 18 and also cannot turn anymore. We recently got the Probed. At PPMD conference in 2009 they had a vender there with the bed. Its very expensive but with the right letters your insurance might pick it up. The bed is great. We tried other mattresses and he didnt like them.

It looks interesting but when you say very expensive exactly how expensive is it?

I think it was $50,000. My sons medical paid for it. With the right justifications insurance will pick it up.

My son has an alternating/low air loss(no sweating feature) Hill-Rom bed called the "Synergy Air Elite". It cost about $5,000, and I know there are less expensive(and more expensive!) air mattresses as our friend got a similar one for $900. Time to let your fingers do the walking thru cyberspace... Before he had this bed he had an alternating over-lay on top of his issued hospital bed mattress--they cost about $150.
