I'm going to have a procedure on Monday that requires General Anesthesia. My mom has a lot of manesfestations for DMD and we assume she is a carrier, but she never had the genetic test to determine that. She has used propofol for her surgeries. Should I request propofol since I am a carrier? The only thing that testing has shown was a small patch of fibrosis on a heart MRI a year ago and cardiac functioning has always been normal. don't want to make a big deal, if it is unnecessary, but at the same time I want to be safe. I did have general anesthesia when I had my last C-section more than 18 years ago, and did fine. Of course, we didn't have any idea about my son's diagnosis then.
