That's a great list Danie. May I add one? We have a foundation here in Florida called Christopher's Community. We serve families in the Tampa Bay area who have children with any form of muscular dystrophy. We provide assistance for transportation and home modification needs. We started in 2005 when my friends saw what we were going through with Christopher. Believe it or not, we have not been inundated with applications for assistance. We've had flyers handed out at MDA clinics...we've told doctors, etc and we have only received a handful of applicants. If you know of anyone in the Tampa Bay Florida area who needs assistance, please forward them to our website at
Thanks!! Tracie
You can also add Dancing for Dystrophy. It is a new foundation to help benefit families in Louisiana with financial assistance. It just started 2 years ago, but is accepting applications and will give grants up to $5000. is the organization's website.
