Hi I'm Ian,

Just incase you haven't heard I wrote my autobiography all through 2009 and part of 2010.

I myself have DMD, I'm 26 from the United Kingdom and this book chronicles my the first 25 years living with Duchenne.

It's now been published and is available to international buyers on Amazon.com

The book is called DMD Life art and me

This is the write up from Amazon;

"IAN has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy the doctor tells my parents, a severe, fatal muscle-wasting disease that will lead
to an early death. This is a chronicle of the first twenty five years of
my life living with DMD read through as my abili...ty
to walk disappears, as my breathing deteriorates, as my heart fails and
as I become increasingly paralysed. Despite all the ventilators and
mini tracheotomies I've still got my positivity and determination to see
me through. I'm fighting back by campaigning and lobbying all the while
helping a charity try to rid the world of Duchenne's forever."

Thanks Ian for being such a great role model for the younger guys!

Ian, I read your book and absolutely LOVED it!!!!  It's just the right mix of humor and reality. I really recommend this book. Those of us living with DMD will "get it", but it's great for anyone to read and start to understand better the DMD world. I want to thank you, Ian, for being so open and sharing with us all....although, my son doesn't have the same gift you do with words, I'm sure most of what you've been through is universal. I feel you gave me an insight to the  thoughts and emotions going on inside him. Thank you and God bless!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ian, I just read your book this week and was shocked at your lack of care. It is a miracle you have survived past age 18. No Cough Assist or daytime "sip vent"??!!! No cardiac meds until it was almost too late. Your story tells of downright determination to live and thrive. More power to you. My son is 30 with dmd and able to work full-time as a software engineer, but that is his determination and choice. Your art is remarkable. Your story is real and from your heart. Thank you for writing it.

I just ordered your book.  I look forward to reading it.  my son who is 18 isnt doing well emotionally and physically.  I myself am very sad and having a hard time.

Thanks everyone! I'm sorry you're having a tough time Michelle
