I'm a little bit worried at the moment.  I just heard on the news about Motrin, etc. recall.  My DMD son has a cold and I gave him some motrin yesterday.  I'm worried about what type of reaction he may get.  Deos anyone know what prompted the recall?  What concerns do we have with our boys.  Any information you have will be helpful.  Thank you!

I believe it was just products made by Johnson & Johnson. Bacteria was found at one of there plants during a gov. inspection.
I don't think anyone got sick yet, it was a precaution. They recommended using generic brands.
Thanks. I just wish I knew the kind of bacteria. Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Have a great day.
Here is the McNeill website that has the lot #'s of recalled products. The children's motrin is all the way at he bottom. Hope that helps.

That's different from what I heard. My understanding was that the amount of active medication in the bottles might be out of specs. They are not basing this recall on any adverse effects. If you've given your child a dose from one of these bottles, there's no reason for concern, but they do recommend you discontinue using them.

I wouldn't worry. Throw it out, or go to their website and find out how to get a refund and/or coupon.
