On Monday, the PPMD family, the Duchenne community, and the world lost an amazing woman with one of the most generous spirits I have known...Shelley White. Please take a minute to read this great article about Shelley. We have also included a link to a video about the annual Easter egg hunt she and her friends threw every year to raise money for Duchenne research in honor of her son Reed and all people living with Duchenne.

She was a very special person and our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

Pat,

Thank you for sharing this important but sad news. There are many good people out there. I never had the opportunity to meet her and her family but the video showed so much. My heart and prayers are with her family.
Thank you, Pat, for sharing Shelley's story. Her parents didn't live too far from us. We visited with the Burks on several occasions about Duchenne. As grandparents of a young child with DMD, they were encouraged by our son Kent and his accomplishments as a young man with DMD. We are deeply saddened to hear of Shelley's passing.

Kippi, It is lovely to hear your voice. I hope you and your family are doing well.
Warm regards,

Pat,

It seems like a lifetime since our first PP conference. I thank God for your stamina and determination over the years. Kent and I are hoping to see you in Atlanta.

I saw an article about her last week and was just in awe of her strength and the way the community had gathered around her. This makes you see just how special she was.
My prayers and thoughts go out to Shelley and her family and friends.
Just one more reason to believe that there are angels among us. What an amazing woman.
